Huntington´s disease - miniature pig Huntington's disease (HD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder caused by an expansion in polyQ repeat in the huntingtin (HTT) protein. Pig represents a suitable model for neurological diseases because of its large gyrencephalic brain with a primate-like neuroarchitecture and long lifespan.
