ImageJ is an open source image processing environment that is widely used in the bioimaging community, as well as in astronomy. It is characterised by a number of interesting features: high degree of interactivity, very powerful image-processing operations, vast set of plugins, excellent programming options ranging from a built-in scripting language to sripting in Python to programming in Java. Last but not least, there is very active user community.

In our talk, we shall introduce the audience into this environment, and on some simple examples from the TAČR GenEx project, we shall demonstrate its use in the microscopy applications.
