A unified approach to image resampling and image registration will be presented. The approach is usefull namely in cases when pixels are so large (or resolution so low), that intensity value of a pixel should not be assigned to a single point in the center of a pixel. The proposed method stems from spatial statistics, where linear estimation methods have been studied for almost 60 years (Kriging, collocation).
