Recent advances in Structure from Motion allow for automatic sparse 3D model reconstructions from thousands of unorganized (i.e. non-sequential) images. Furthermore, thanks to recent development of Multiview-stereo methods, it is possible to reconstruct dense 3D meshes of whole city segments on a consumer-level PC with GPU. The talk will summarize the state-of-the-art methods for both the sparse and dense 3D reconstruction, show applications of the methods on terrestrial and non-terrestrial images, and introduce a web-based tool able to create 3D models from user-uploaded images developed at CMP using the aforementioned methods.
