At Friday's seminar, I will introduce Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM), a method of super-resolution microscopy that is capable of surpassing the diffraction limit and allows observing processes in living cells with a resolution of less than 100nm. We will explain its principle, introduce state-of-the-art approaches and challenges, and touch on our proposed extension, which we are working on in collaboration with Dr. Kadlecova from the University of Cambridge.
